WhatsApp update for Android will add screen casting and change the dashboard

The WhatsApp development team is preparing an update to the Android client, which will bring the messenger closer to video calling platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The messaging app will have a screen casting feature, as well as an updated control panel. At the moment, innovations are available only to a limited number of beta testers. The company promises that within a few weeks, the changes will be available to all users.

The redesigned navigation bar (pictured above) will feature both well-known elements such as switching cameras, muting audio and video, as well as a new screen casting feature. When you press the new button, you will see a notification “Start recording or broadcasting your screen on WhatsApp?”, as well as a warning about the inadmissibility of broadcasting confidential data.

It is worth noting that the mentioned feature may not work on older Android models, with group calls, or with users who do not have the latest version of WhatsApp downloaded.

Recently, Meta* added another long-awaited change to its messenger – the function of editing messages, which works only in the first 15 minutes.

It is included in the list of public associations and religious organizations in respect of which the court made a final decision on the liquidation or prohibition of activities on the grounds provided for by Federal Law No. 25-FZ of 07.2002.114 “On Countering Extremist Activity”.
